The magic and allure of traveling to Greece are always with me. This country has always fascinated me ever since I was a child, and then on my first trip.

This time around, the opportunity to visit two new islands for me was irresistible. Together with our partners, Turkish Airlines and Skylines Travel Premium DMC, we created the perfect visit to two iconic islands, Crete & Rhodes, with the mandatory stops at the eternal beauty of Athens.

Crete, Chania, and Rhodes offer a quietly extravagant side of Greece, where natural drama meets refined hospitality and discreet indulgence. Each island pairs cinematic landscapes with polished service, private spaces, and a sense of place that feels unmistakably, luxuriously Greek.

After a quick overnight in Athens due to a late arrival, we flew to Crete and quickly checked into the Chania area, which brings a more intimate charm: a Venetian harbor lit golden at sunset, boutique hotels tucked into restored mansions, and terraces that look across bobbing yachts to distant mountains. Cobbled lanes are lined with wine bars and refined tavernas, while chic beach clubs and design‑driven resorts just outside town give easy access to Balos and Elafonisi by private boat.

One of our favorite properties in Chania was the stunning Casa Delfino. Casa Delfino in Chania is a quietly glamorous refuge where history and elegance meet just steps from the Venetian harbor. Housed in a lovingly restored 17th-century mansion, its marble floors, stone arches, and sun-dappled courtyard create an atmosphere of timeless romance and understated luxury. Each individually styled suite blends classical character with contemporary comfort, while the intimate spa and lantern-lit rooftop terrace frame serene views of sea and old town. With its warm, family-run hospitality, Casa Delfino feels less like a hotel and more like a graceful Cretan home.

Crete also combines wild beauty with sophisticated resorts, from pink‑sand and turquoise‑water coves to dramatic mountain backdrops dotted with vineyards and olive groves. Elegant hideaways near Elounda and along the north coast offer suites cascading down to the sea, many with private pools, butler-style service, and destination dining focused on elevated Cretan cuisine.

Our next stop was the fascinating and historical Island of Rhodes, with layers of history and hedonism, from the stone walls and lantern-lit lanes of its UNESCO-listed medieval town to sweeping Aegean views from the clifftop village of fantastic village of Lindos. High-end resorts curve around secluded bays, offering adults-only suites, panoramic infinity pools, and yacht charters to explore hidden beaches by day before returning to fine dining terraces at night.

Back in the medieval town, we all fell in love with an incredible luxury hotel, small called Kokkini Porta Rossa. Kokkini Porta Rossa is a storybook hideaway set just inside the ancient walls of Rhodes’ Medieval Town, beside the fabled St John’s Gate, the “Red Door.” Stone arches, timber beams, and antique details whisper of its 14th-century knightly past, while candlelit corners and a leafy courtyard garden create an air of hushed romance. With only a handful of characterful suites, the mansion feels like a private home, where handcrafted breakfasts, thoughtful hosts, and serene, cobbled‑lane views surround guests with warmth, history, and quiet luxury in one of Greece’s most atmospheric settings. Must visit!

To complete our trip, we all went back to Athens to seal our trip as bookends, at the start and at the end of this magical trip. We all enjoyed incredible and abundant food everywhere, many site inspections to fill up too many pages, and incredible Greek hospitality. We also had the pleasure of enjoying the Parthenon without the scaffolding!  If you ask me, when to go back to Greece, I will say.. Tomorrow!
