We recently had the pleasure of hosting a very special FAM trip through Thailand with a wonderful group of travel advisors, all of whom had an amazing experience discovering the country’s incredible hospitality, culture, and luxury offerings firsthand.
My journey began onboard Philippine Airlines, flying through Manila in Business Class on their Boeing 777 aircraft. The onboard service was warm and attentive, the seats were comfortable for the long journey, and overall, it was a very pleasant start to the adventure.
Our first stop was Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, which continues to impress with its sophisticated design, exceptional service, and remarkable attention to detail. Shane Jameson and his team went above and beyond to ensure every guest felt welcomed with thoughtful amenities and personalized touches throughout the stay.
While in Bangkok, one of the true highlights was visiting the Jim Thompson House Museum, a fascinating cultural experience showcasing Thai art, history, and architecture.
From Bangkok, we journeyed to Khao Yai, a region known for its vineyards, farms, and relaxed countryside atmosphere. It is an excellent destination for families and travelers looking for a different side of Thailand. Our stay at InterContinental Khao Yai Resort was incredibly special. Designed around a luxury train-inspired concept, the resort offers stunning accommodations, a beautiful spa, and a serene lakeside setting unlike anywhere else.
We then returned to Bangkok before flying north to Chiang Mai and checking into InterContinental Chiang Mai. The hotel enjoys a fantastic location and offers beautiful accommodations along with an outstanding Club Lounge experience for guests. Excitingly, a brand-new wing featuring additional suites and club-level rooms is set to open in October, elevating the experience even further.
A true once-in-a-lifetime moment came during our visit to Elephant Eco Valley, where guests can ethically interact with elephants in a natural environment. Feeding, walking alongside them, and even bathing them in the river was an unforgettable experience for everyone on the trip.
To conclude the journey, we headed south to Phuket and stayed at InterContinental Phuket Resort, the only Two Michelin Key resort within the InterContinental collection. The property is spectacularly designed across two distinct areas, including an exclusive beachfront wing for Club Lounge guests offering additional privacy and direct beach access. Exceptional dining, beautiful pools, world-class service, and luxurious accommodations made for the perfect finale to the trip.
One of the absolute highlights in Phuket was experiencing the InterContinental private yacht. We spent several unforgettable hours onboard enjoying a beautiful swim in the Andaman Sea followed by a wonderful lunch served onboard. The yacht experience can also be customized for full-day excursions or even overnight journeys, featuring private cabins and extremely luxurious accommodations, creating a truly unique way to explore the islands surrounding Phuket.
