Nomade Tulum - Why Tulum should be on your list

This summer, I had the opportunity to Host a small group of hand-chosen Travel Advisors for a three-night stay at Nomade Tulum. They came from all over the East Coast with varying levels of experience, clientele, and destination knowledge. They all experienced Tulum for the first time.

Almost every Travel Advisor today has been to Mexico, specifically Cancun. Tulum is a completely different experience. It is only two hours from Cancun International Airport, and now a brand new International airport is 20 minutes away, but it feels worlds apart. Non-stop service from the U.S. launched in March.

What makes Nomade Tulum such a special place?

It’s the vibe that makes it such a special brand. The focus is wellness, which encompasses your mind, body, and soul. Copal is burned throughout the property, creating an ethereal and mystical aesthetic. This resin is considered sacred, allowing one to see life more clearly and inspire divine insight. It is believed to carry messages to the spirit world.

Who is the ideal Guest for Nomade Tulum?

Is anyone looking to reset, relax, and refocus? The beautiful white sand beach stretches for miles against the clear blue waters of the Caribbean. Young, old, and everyone will find peace and harmony throughout the tree-covered grounds.

Note that the entire property is sand, so anyone with mobility issues will find it hard to navigate.

What kind of accommodation is offered?

There are mostly king-bedded rooms with AC, WiFi, and an ensuite; some have private plunge pools. Two-bedroom villas are ideal for couples or families traveling together. There are no TVs in the rooms.

What dining experiences can guests find?

La Popular is an open-air beachfront restaurant for casual dining offering fresh and locally sourced seafood; open for Lunch & Dinner.

Macondo offers Middle Eastern cuisine, daily live music, and a romantic setting for cocktails and small, sharable plates for dinner. Breakfast and lunch are also served in this location.

Kuu is a Japanese culinary journey that is to be noticed. Dinner is offered in two seatings, in Omakase style. The menu changes daily and is tailored to the season.

What experiences are offered on the property?

Yoga sessions, Cacao ceremony, Breathwork, Agua Magica, and Sound Healing are offered to all Guests to unplug and unwind. The lush foliage of the grounds shades a cold water pool. Guests have access & signing privileges at Be Tulum, Nomades sister property next door.

What experiences are offered off-property?

There is so much to see and do in Tulum. Here are a few highlights:

Tulum Mayan Archaeological site should be on everyone’s list of Must-see activities.  The views of the turquoise waters are magnificent.  You can plan a tour or hire a local guide at the park entrance; although it’s visually stunning, the history is even more impressive.

For adventure seekers, you have 15 cenotes, all different but spectacular in their own right. You can snorkel, dive, or float in the crystal-clear water of these open and closed cenotes. Some were said to be used for spiritual rituals and formed millions of years ago. They now make up over 95 miles of underwater waterways.

The Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve is a UNESCO Heritage site and one of the most ecologically diverse places in the world. A boat tour will take you through the wetlands along the mangrove channels, and you may even be lucky enough to see some manatees.

The Coba Archaeological site is close to an hour away from Tulum and is one of the biggest of its kind, just falling short of Chichen Itza. Climb an ancient pyramid with a unique view of Mexico.
